Walks
One of the social activities is to walk in the area. Here two separate walks in two separate woods in the spring of 2009 with the bluebells approaching their best.

Cornwall has plenty of scope for walks from easy to challenging and Scorrier is within easy reach of many of them. Being based on the Mineral Tramway it is also in the right place for cyclists being at the halfway point between Devoran and Portreath.
The Tramway trail runs through the western edge of Unity woods which run from there eastwards towards Wheal Busy.
The second photo is taken in Tehidy woods which provide a lot more space but are also much busier on a day with nice weather.
This particular location is the path alongside the stream which runs through the lower end of the woods from East Gate westwards. Squirrels, birds, plants, water and trees with a range of environments from paved paths to small woodland paths alongside the badger sett make it worth a visit.
When through the woods and forest glades I wander,
I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze;
Then sings my soul, my saviour GOD to Thee, How great thou art!
Two weeks after the walks part of the Sunday morning service included this hymn led by Charlie. If you would to hear just this verse and one chorus then play this:
